KKR vs SRH, IPL 2024 Final

KKR won their third IPL title in one of the most one-sided finals ever. They dismissed SRH for just 113 runs and chased the target down with ease

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the Indian Premier League for the third time after beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in an extraordinarily one-sided final. SRH were all out for 113 runs, the lowest in an IPL final, and KKR chased the target down in 10.3 overs. (AP)

Mitchell Starc started the carnage by dismissing SRH’s dangerous openers Abhishek Sharma in the first over. Travis Head fell in the second to Vaibhav Arora and then Rahul Tripathi to Starc in the fifth over and SRH thus lost three wickets in the powerplay. (AP)

The collapse never stopped for SRH with Andre Russel later taking over. He ended the innings with figures of 3/19. (ANI)

Heinrich Klaasen fell in the 15th over after which captain Pat Cummins provided some resistance. All six of KKR’s bowlers took wickets and SRH were all out for 113. (PTI)

Cummins gave SRH some hope by dismissing Sunil Narine in the second over of the KKR chase but Venkatesh Iyer took the bowlers to the cleaners and flattened out any chance of a miraculous fight back. (AP)

Venkatesh scored was unbeaten on 52 off 26 balls, hitting four fours and three sixes. (AP)

Venkatesh hit the winning runs with a single off the third ball of the 11th over and KKR thus won their first title since 2014. (PTI)
